ASU Profile on Nikki Osgood
ASU School of Molecular Sciences military veteran graduates this summer
Nicola Osgood began her ASU career while still on active duty in the U.S. Marine Corps. Fortunately she was able to enroll as a biochemistry major in the School of Molecular Sciences’ world-class online degree program, and Osgood took full advantage. She was frequently found studying at work, on the rifle range — in fact anywhere she could squeeze in a moment or two with a textbook.

Bri McCoy Awarded NSF GRFP
National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship Program
The NSF GRFP recognizes and supports outstanding graduate students in NSF-supported STEM disciplines who are pursuing research-based master’s and doctoral degrees at accredited US institutions. Brianah (Bri) McCoy is a first-year PhD student in Molecular and Cellular Biology, where she is advised by Dr. Noah Snyder-Mackler. Bri previously graduated from ASU online with a B.S in Biological Sciences in 2020. She is currently working as a member of the Dog Aging Project on project 3 where she studies the molecular mechanisms (epigenetics) of muscular aging in companion dogs.
After graduating from ASU, she hopes to begin a career with the National Institutes of Health, specifically the National Institute on Aging where she can continue her work understanding human skeletal muscle aging and developing potential therapeutic strategies for increasing healthspan. She also plans to continue her efforts to create research opportunities for non-traditional/underrepresented students and encourage increased diversity in STEM.
